PDO Threadlift

Lift and tighten to look 10 years younger

Having trained in PDO threadlift treatment over 13 years ago, I am one of the most experienced doctors performing this treatment in the South West. My initial training was in Toronto and I have gone on to learn 4 other techniques since then. The technique that I currently offer is my favourite one as it gives pleasing results right from the start and has a short recovery time. I have performed hundreds of treatments over the years and have a zero percent infection rate.

I have had the treatment done myself at my initial training in Toronto, and am therefore able to advise clients exactly what this involves from my own perspective. I like to feel that I can empathise with my clients and I am sensitive to your anxieties and worries about treatments such as this.

I have a 100% safety record. I provide a highly professional and confidential service and each threadlift, consultation and aftercare is done only by myself. You, therefore, get to know me as your practitioner, and we can develop a good doctor-patient partnership.

PDO threadlifts are designed to help restore your facial structure by lifting and tightening the skin to reduce visible signs of ageing without surgery. I am able to provide a bespoke plan, and the placing of the threads will be tailored to your individual requirements.

The treatment takes about an hour and involves injections of local anaesthetic for your comfort. This involves the introduction of threads via a cannula beneath the skin. These threads become embedded in the tissue, to internally ziplock it, without the use of scalpel or sutures. Often referred to as a ‘lunchtime facelift’, this is actually not the case. Although it may only take one hour, I would not advise you to go back to work immediately because some bruising and swelling will occur. You may feel quite tired after the treatment too.

Treatments are available at my clinics at Bute House, Bridge Road, Frampton on Severn, Gloucestershire, GL2 7HA and Sevenfields Dental Health Centre, Woodcutters Mews, Swindon, SN25 4AU.

PDO Threadlift FAQ

PDO threads can be used to treat sagging skin in the forehead, eyebrow area, eye bags, jowls, cheeks, neck and mouth area, as well as arms, legs and abdomen.

If you are looking for a minimally invasive, relatively pain-free treatment which can help restore your natural facial structure and tighten the skin, then this could be the solution

PDO threadlifts offer a surgery-free alternative to the traditional facelift, only requiring a local anaesthetic and little downtime. The results are visible immediately after the treatment and continue to improve in the following weeks.

A tiny hole is made in front of the ear and the threads are inserted via a cannula along the direction of pull desired. Once the threads are in place, the body produces new collagen around the thread, which helps to create a subtle natural looking lifting effect.

Threads used in a PDO threadlift are made of polydioxanone. This is a biodegradable material used for medical stitches which dissolves naturally within the body. The threads dissolve over 6-9 months whilst your own collagen develops in the area to keep the tissues in the position the threads have been holding them in.

Threadlift results vary from person to person but typically last 3-5 years. It is possible to have the treatment repeated or just have a few threads inserted later to keep the results topped up.

After PDO threadlift treatment you may experience some bruising, swelling and rarely puckering. This is completely normal and can last 5-7 days. Arnica tablets taken a few days prior to the threadlift can help to minimise bruising.

After PDO threadlifts, you will be able to drive home. However, you will not look your absolute best for a few days and may want to reschedule social and work engagements until bruising and swelling settle. You will be able to wash your hair and face the day after the treatment, and use your usual products, applying them gently and in an upward direction. There will be some tenderness and tightness for the first few days. You may feel some pinging of the barbs over the next few weeks. This is completely normal. You will avoid strenuous activities for several weeks until your face feels comfortable enough. Your face will tell you what you can and cannot do.
