Sculptra

Lift, voumise and smooth to bring back youthful skin

Sculptra can subtly smooth, soften, contour and tone your skin whilst restoring youthful plumpness and defining your features.

Sculptra contains Poly-L-Lactic Acid, which replaces lost collagen to help maintain elasticity in the skin. This material is also found in dissolvable stitches and has been used worldwide for over 25 years.

The treatment is administered through a series of small injections at varying depths of skin to achieve the best possible results. The injections fill out depressed areas of the face that have lost volume through ageing.

After 3 treatments, your face will look fuller and fine lines and wrinkles will appear softened. However, these will adjust as the water found in Sculptra is absorbed into the body. You can expect to see clear improvements 6 weeks after initial treatment and this will continue to improve with each treatment. As your body begins to produce increased facial collagen, the connective tissue where ageing has had its effects will begin to naturally rebuild, smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines.

I have been performing Sculptra treatments for over 12 years, and have found it to be invaluable for severe volume loss and also severely lined cheeks. I have treated hundreds of my clients over the years and have a 100% safety record.

Treatments are available at my clinics at Bute House, Bridge Road, Frampton on Severn, Gloucestershire, GL2 7HA and Sevenfields Dental Health Centre, Woodcutters Mews, Swindon, SN25 4AU.

Sculptra FAQ

Sculptra has been specially developed to help the body to "fill-in" the lines, wrinkles and depressions which develop naturally over the years.

Sculptra is a Poly-L-Lactic Acid which occurs naturally and which helps to stimulate the body's own production of collagen within the line or wrinkle, making the skin appear smoother and firmer.

Using a needle or microcannula, Sculptra is injected under the line or wrinkle. Initially, the gel fills the wrinkle but what makes Sculptra so innovative is that it also works gradually over time to stimulate the production of new collagen within the wrinkle, so the skin regains its previous elasticity and smoothness.

Sculptra is an excellent way of reducing lines and wrinkles on all parts of the face including the forehead, around the eyes, lips, between the mouth and nose and cheeks. Sculptra can add volume to areas which may have become hollow or "baggy" such as rings around the eyes, cheeks, lips, folds around the chin and even on hands, knees and ankles. Certain types of scars can also be created.

Due to the way Sculptra acts to stimulate the skins own collagen, the results can last much longer than other types of cosmetic implant. Most people should expect a sustained improvement for 12 months or longer.

Immediately after Sculptra treatment, there may be slight redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This a normal result of the injection and generally disappears after a few days.

Straight after having your Sculptra treatment, you will see an improvement in the firmness of the skin as the wrinkles and lines have been literally "filled". Within the next 2 to 3 weeks the wrinkle or line may appear to regress. Don't worry this is normal and after a few days, the gel starts to stimulate the natural production of collagen. You will be able to see the full effect approximately 20 days after having your treatment.

Sculptra is made from substances found naturally in the body and contains no animal proteins. However, as with all substances and medication, there is the possibility of an allergic reaction.
