Volume Loss

Plump thinning tissue to restore your youthful appearance

Facial sagging and volume loss are unfortunately part and parcel of the ageing process. Structural changes in the deeper levels of the skin contribute to a tired and worn-out appearance. Saggy cheeks are considered the most ageing feature in a person’s face and it is for this reason that we need to look at how the face moves and where the face has lost volume, to be able to restore elasticity and youthful features.

By replacing some of the missing facial volume, mainly around the midface, cheeks and temple area, we can achieve a plumper, lifted effect, including restoration of the jawline. This will also reduce the dreaded tired look around the eyes and restore some of the youthful facial proportions such as a fuller upper face and cheek region, whilst narrowing the area around the chin and jaw.

The difference between a young face and an old face is volume. Hollow cheeks, deep laughter lines and circles under the eyes are common results of facial volume loss but with Dermal Fillers, Sculptra and subtle placements of Botox® around the forehead, eyes and chin area, I can relax those competing muscles pulling on the face using safe and effective volumising treatments.

Non-surgical facelifting techniques have been revolutionised in the past few years with advances in injectable fillers that add volume back to the face. Sculptra and Juvéderm Voluma® are amongst the most widely researched products that have been developed and carefully tested to correct volume loss anywhere in the body but are especially effective at correcting age-related loss of volume in the midface. Sculptra is especially great for people with generalised facial hollowness or fat loss because the treatment works by stimulating the body’s own collagen production. The results from Sculptra treatments have even been shown to last up to 3 years.

Juvéderm Voluma®, manufactured by leading injectable company Allergan lasts from 12 - 18 months depending on the gel particle size and placement of the filler and was the first FDA-approved non-surgical option to instantly correct age-related volume loss in the cheek area.
